Press Release Body: Stacks and Stacks, a Richmond, California Ecommerce leader has just launched its latest website iteration. The site features a newly designed, faster platform and some state of the art features including Ajax, product magnification and zooming, item comparisons, a recently reviewed products feature, and deeper categorization, among others.
The Company was recently named as one of the Top 300 U.S. Internet Ecommerce sites by the prestigious Internet Retailer Magazine (the Fortune 500 of the Internet industry) for the third year in a row. Last year the magazine named Stacks as one of Top 100 “Hot” retail companies.
After graduating from college in the 1960s Mel Ronick, the owner and founder, went to work selling computer systems for IBM. He then changed careers and became a shopping center developer and a chain store leasing agent. Stacks and Stacks was founded in 1984 as a retail concept. In 1998 faced with mounting Big Box competition, Ronick decided to take a gamble on the internet and launched www.stacksandstacks.com. While not a computer geek himself, he understood the power of information technology—an understanding that would come in handy later. “I’m not a technical programming type, but I was fascinated by what computers could do,” he says. That coupled with his exposure to retailing through his work experience was an ideal background to dive into the internet. The site now carries over 20,000 home furnishing, office and garden items from over 1,100 manufacturers.
Stacks and Stacks has relied on a strong organic search strategy combined with good everyday prices and an outstanding customer service team to continue strong annual growth. Ronick takes pride in his company’s high ranking on Amazon, 95% approval rating, and Bizrate, with over 10,000 favorable customer reviews.
